In November 2010, an international panel of more than 30 experts organized by the WHO released a report summarizing its views on BPA after reviewing the latest scientific evidence. Based on the expert report, WHO stated that the circulating levels of BPA in the human body are very low, indicating that “BPA is not accumulated in the body and is rapidly eliminated through urine.” Furthermore, in regard to recent studies claiming associations between BPA and adverse health outcomes, it noted, “It is difficult to interpret the relevance of these studies in the light of current knowledge of this compound. Until these associations can be confirmed, initiation of public health measures would be premature.” To read the full report, please click here.
